Saline Medical Specialties recently celebrated its grand reopening and ribbon cutting on April 25th, 2019. It was a special day, not just for the new owner, Dr. Josué Gutiérrez, but also for the staff and the community who was there to celebrate with Dr. Gutiérrez and his family. For several years, the Crete community and surrounding areas have trusted Saline Medical Specialties to provide quality care.
The clinic has been serving Crete since 2003, when Dr. Walter Gardner decided to open up a second clinic in the community. Though at the beginning it was an independent clinic, Dr. Gardner eventually joined The Physician Network, later joining the Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) network. Earlier this year, CHI had plans to close the clinic. It was at that time that Dr. Gutiérrez decided that the community could really benefit from having more providers and has worked hard to keep the clinic open.
Saline Medical Specialties officially transitioned to an independent practice on April 17th of this year.
As the clinic looks to the future, its mission is to provide the best care possible for everyone, every day. Under the new management, Saline Medical Specialties will continue to provide the same high-quality care it has always provided. The new vision for the clinic is to bring an innovative approach to healthcare in a rural, diverse setting. Part of the approach includes partnering with other specialties and bringing those expertise closer to home for the community’s benefit. With an innovative approach to primary care, the clinic’s providers and staff will continue to strive to deliver high-quality care that meets all of the its patients’ healthcare needs.
